A new story alleging Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez flew to Seattle just to eat sweets at The Sugary Factory is nothing more than a fabrication. Gossip Cop can correct this claim. We're told it's "not true."

As recently reported, on Saturday afternoon the couple traveled to Seattle for a mini break, and over the course of the weekend, Bieber and Gomez were spotted spending time together at The Sugar Factory in Bellevue, WA. While their visit to The Sugar Factory only made up a small segment of their weekend getaway, TMZ insinuates in its latest article that the pair flew to Seattle purely to indulge in sugary treats at the popular eatery. The website writes in its newest report, "Justin Bieber swept Selena Gomez off her feet and plied her full of sugar."

The outlet goes on to quote a "source" as telling the site, "They spent some romantic one-on-one time in the Chocolate Lounge, where they indulged in a frosty 60 oz. drink called the Ocean Blue," a "virgin blend with 2 straws for sharing." And to conclude its story, the website asserts Bieber and Gomez "could have easily gone to The Sugar Factory in L.A.," before purporting that Bieber took the singer-actress on a "pretty baller date night." The New York Post also picked up the article without fact-checking it first, claiming that "dates are always sweeter when there's candy involved."

But Gossip Cop investigated the report, and the assertion about the couple flying to Seattle just for a date at The Sugar Factory is completely inaccurate. A source close to the "Sorry" singer tells us the tale is "not true." In reality, Bieber and Gomez took a two-day trip to see Pastor Judah Smith, one of Bieber's "closest spiritual advisors." Contrary to both outlet's stories, Pastor Smith's Sunday morning church service was the main reason for their trip to Seattle, not to indulge in sweet treats.
