My Experience with Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance Expert Emulsion:

Packaging:
Eau Thermale Avene Cleanance Expert Emulsion comes in a serene white coloured, easy to squeeze, sleek tube packaging with a screw cap. The tube has a nozzle-type opening that lets you dispense the right amount of the emulsion. The tube itself bears the information, but in French. The tube has an outer cardboard packaging. The cardboard box houses all information about the product in detail in both English and French. Overall, the packaging is basic, functional and travel-friendly.

Texture and Fragrance:
The emulsion has a rich and lightweight formula that actually acts as a lightweight lotion for oily skin. It has medium consistency and glides over the skin super easily. The emulsion is actually white and opaque in appearance with a mild fragrance to it. The fragrance is subtle and fresh. To be honest, I really like the scent of every Avene product that I have used till date. They all have very basic, mild and fresh fragrance. However, the scent disappears within a few seconds of application.

Usage/Results:
To use, I take a pea sized amount and apply it all over the face. I use it at least once a day, and at most, twice after using Dear, Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. After applying, the emulsion gets absorbed into the skin quickly but leaves silicone feeling behind. Although unlike mat mattifying emulsion, it doesn’t feel in excess. Also, the silicone feeling curtails with time. However, if your skin is sensitive towards silicone-based products, then it might not be the best option for you.

So what does this emulsion do in terms of instant effects? The emulsion hydrates the skin and keeps it like that throughout the day. It does not make skin greasy or slick at all. It acts as a good makeup base and does not alter the longevity of the makeup products. I prefer to be bare skin in summers and I am only using these emulsions from Avène and Innisfree No Sebum Mineral Powder as my summer essentials. It also soothes the skin and reduces redness and inflammation which I adore in a product, especially having acne-prone and sensitive skin.

The emulsion provides a kind of demi-matte finish and the face does not look flat. When talking about its performance, if I use it alone then the emulsion keeps the skin mattified for nearly 4+ hours. Unlike Avene mattifying emulsion, there is no slick feeling at all. The sebum just resurfaces as usual.

Let’s talk about the results which I noticed after using it for nearly 5.5 weeks. With the regular usage, it smoothens out the skin. It also reduces the occurrence of whiteheads and zits, but not capable of completely preventing them. Also, the emulsion is not effective in treating existing zits and acne. The product also claims to reduce spots and I have seen a very slight effect on my spots. On the other note, I notice that with regular usage the emulsion controls the production of excessive sebum, which ultimately prevents clogged pores.

Overall, this emulsion is exactly what I was looking for to use in the summer. Also, if you’ve had a good experience with Avène products in the past, then surely try this one out as well.
