Manicure Monday - Nails Inc Paint Can Review (Spray On Polish) + an update 24 hours later

It's Manicure Monday - I am super excited to try the Nails Inc London Paint Can Spray on Nail Polish! I had mentioned a few months back that this was available in the UK, but it just came out in Canada at the end of March!

Nails Inc. Paint Can Spray On Nail Polish in "Hoxton Market" ~ $14.00. Paint Can Spray On Nail Polish is perfect for on-the-go nail polish fans who are on the go. Just spray onto the fingertips and the polish adheres to the base coat or nail polish. To remove any excess polish, quickly wash away from the skin with water or cleansing wipes. You’ll achieve perfectly applied polish instantly. For up to four days of wear with a glossy finish, apply a top coat.

Nails Inc. The Paint Can's Best Friend 2 in 1 Base and Top Coat ~ $10.00. This mini bottle of top coat was created in conjunction with the revolutionary Paint Can Spray On Polish. Formulated with fast-dry technology, it delivers a super quick drying base and top coat application.

This polish is a little different than most to use:
1. Apply base coat. Allow to dry. (They recommend this base coat, but it is not required)
2. Shake the paint can well prior to use.Hold the can 10-15 cm away from nail and spray (don't worry if you get it on your hands) and allow to dry for a few minutes.
3. Apply top coat and allow to dry.
4. With soap and water, wash off excess spray polish from hands and cuticles.

Here is a look at my final result:

What I was most surprised about when applying was how uneven the polish applied to the nails - especially given that I used their recommended base coat. The polish did not look smooth on my nails at all. On a few I tried to go over with a second layer to see if that helped - it did not.

What I was most impressed about, was after applying the top coat, the polish washed off my hands and cuticles really well - I showed the comparison of the first and second wash and the second wash was only needed for a few little stragglers left on my fingers!

On my left hand, by the time I went upstairs to write this post, a few of my nails had chipped. Again, because I used the recommended top coat, I would not expect the polish to chip so quickly.

Edit #1 - By the end of writing this post, half of one of these nail polishes peeled right off

As excited as I was for this product, I can't say with my first impressions use that I was happy with the results. I mean, I agree that this is a convenient option - it was really quick altogether to do, about 10-15 minutes with fully dried nails.

In terms of using for your weekly manicure option, I was not impressed with the quality of the polish. I practiced using the spray can and thought I had a great technique so I was not expecting the amount of un-evenness. Meh... not pleased. As usual, I will give this a second chance sometime soon and see if anything improves, but you might be better to skip this one.

Edit #2 - By Tuesday morning another nail had completely peeled off - I actually think I am going to return this now!

Well I was already unimpressed by the application and how patchy and rough it was - but the fact that I have whole nails peeling right off is not impressive at all. This will now be a for sure return.

And don't but this - please, I have tried it for us all...
